Restrict Yaoshang holidays to only two days: Kakching student bodies

Kakching, March 12 2025: In view of the school days missed by students owing to the protracted conflict, student bodies in Kakching have urged the relevant authority to limit the Yaoshang holidays to only two days.

The student bodies include All Kha Kanglei Students' Union (AKKSU) and Kakching branches of three student organisations including DESAM and SUK, said a joint press release.

The student groups have said that educational institutions should receive only the two-day gazetted holidays on March 14 and 15, as declared by the Government.

The press release called for the support of Kakching CSOs, clubs, organisations and guardians in their effort to ensure that students get proper education.

Further, it appealed against posing challenges to the students on their way to school such as blocking the road with ropes for money collection, throwing water and coloured powder etc.
