Tamenglong, December 11 2015 :
Amana village of Tamenglong District is reeling under numerous problems as no perceptible development works had been initiated in the village in recent times.
Amana Village was established in 2005, just 2 km drive from Tamenglong District Headquarters.
The village is inhabited by 384 people with 64 households and it has been neglected by the Government since a long time.
The village has no electricity; no ASHA workers; no Anganwadi Centre; no potable drinking water supply; no government School etc.
There is also absence of proper road connectivity.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Amana Village Chairman Mathiusang Panmei informed that after demand for electrification of the village was made, the power department provided a transformer which was installed few days back.
However, the transformer is yet to be made functional.

Mathiusang expressed dismay with the electricity department as there was no way of illuminating homes in the village for Christmas.
He said the villagers also had to spend huge amount of money while trying to install the transformer hiring vehicles, electric posts, buying copper wires, charcoal, salt and other essential needs.
Apart from the lack of power, the village has no proper drinking water facilities or supply from the PHED, Tamenglong.
The villagers use water from mountain stream sources, he said.
The Village Chairman also highlighted the plight of the villagers on the lack of medical facilities in the village and the poor road connectivity issue.
He appealed the responsible authorities to look into the matter.
Mathiusang further appealed the Electricity Department, Tamenglong to provide power before Christmas and New Year.
