Landslide Relief Team for Khengjoy

Kakching, September 11 2015 : A landslide Relief Service team of Compassion Manipur and the Thadou Students' Association (TSA), General Headquarters was flagged off on Friday by Yanglet Haokip, National Council Member and Core Committee Member of BJP Manipur State at H Kotlenphai Village in Chandel District.

The Relief Service team will visit the landslide affected Villages under Khengjoy Sub-Division and provide relief assistance to the displaced villagers of Joumol, Hollenjang, Tujang, Tolbung, P Chehjang, Moltuk, N Wajang, TM Dingpi, Hengkot, Phaiphengkot and Maokot Village TSA GHQ's Advisor Jalun Haokip, General Secretary James Thadou, Thadou Baptist Association's Executive Secretary Rev P Sitlhou and TBA Pastor Rev Letkam also attended the flagged off program among other.

Speaking to the media persons, Lulun Thadou, Secretary Information TSA GHQ said the Relief Service team of Compassion Manipur and the TSA General Head Quarters will visit the recent landslide affected villages under Khengjoy Sub-Division to oversee the conditions of the villagers.

During the two-day visit, the team will also provide Medicines, Tarpaulin and other items as relief assistance to the villagers of 11 villages, he added.

Lulun further maintained that the team will also accompany the Villagers of Joumol who took refuge at a relief camp near Sugnu after landslide washed away their village and necessary arrangement was also made for their transportation to return to the village for resettlement.
