Death anniversary of Maharaja Narsingh observed

Imphal, April 11 2017: The 167th death anniversary of Maharaja Narsingh was observed today by Manipur Archaeology Department of Art of Culture at Kangla.

The observance was graced by MLA P Surchandra and Art and Culture Director Dr K Sushila as the chief guest and president.

Apart from observing two-minute silence, gun salute was also given by Manipur Rifles contingent.

Speaking at the programme, MLA P Surchandra said, "People of Manipur should not forget the contributions and sacrifices of our past leaders.

We all should follow their footsteps and contribute our part in safeguarding our State and promote unity among the people" .

As part of the observance, a drama on Maharaja Narsingh was also performed at Rupmahal Theatre, Imphal.
