DESAM holds Common Examination

Imphal, December 10 2012: The fifth Imphal East district 'Common Examination' organised by the district unit of DESAM for class II and V was conducted yesterday at Lamlong Higher Secondary School.

A DESAM, Imphal East release issued by its publicity secretary Saikhom Rakesh Meitei informed that 327 students of Government as well as aided primary level educational institutions took part at the examination, conducted to assess dedication of the teachers and to what extent parents are contributing towards academic excellence of their wards.

Confiding that marked improvement was evident in this year's examination thereby indicating that DESAM's initiative has been positive, Rakesh opined that if similar trend continues Manipur will certainly achieve the cherished goal of quality education.

In the said common examination, K Sweety of Bheigyabati Primary School secured 46 marks to bag the top position in Class II category followed by L Daina (45) of Keibi High School in second, while K Bidyananda of Angom Lawai Koining LP School and H Rani of Bashikhong Junior High School shared the third position on 43 marks each.

In class V category, Md Ajimuddin (47) of Abushidik Junior HS topped the competition while Kh Seitajit Singh of Moirang Kampu Sajeb Primary School and H Dhanakumar of Haraorou Cosmopolitan Primary School shared the second position at 42 marks each.

The third position was also shared by Geetamala Loukrakpam of Angom Lawai Koining Primary School and Kh Sayakiran Devi of Moirang Kampu Sajeb Primary School at 40 marks each.

Six consolation prizes were given in each of the categories.
