World Mental Health Day observed

Noney/Kpi, October 10 2024: The Management Committee of Makaam Hospital & Research Institute, Longmai Bazar organised a mental health awareness programme today at the hospital conference hall in observation of World Mental Health Day.

The event was graced by Dr Azin Maringmei, District Leprosy Officer (DLO) Noney; Dr Dinsibou Pamei, Counselling Psychologist Career Counsellor and Dr Guinungliu Gonmei, RMO, Makaam Hospital, as the resource persons of the program.

The program was kicked off with an opening prayer by Sunita Kamei, sister in-charge, followed by a welcome address from Pouhoi Gonmei, Chief Supervisor, MHRI.

Jangsin Kamei, Manager, MHRI hosted the event.

During the programme, the resource persons urged society leaders to organise regular counselling sessions and set up rehabilitation centres in every town to combat mental health issues among the youth.

The staff of MHRI, patient parties and the general public of Longmai Bazar Area attended the awareness programme.

Additionally, the Indian Army conducted a program on mental health awareness at Leimakhong Military Station in Kangpokpi disitrct today.

Lectures on mental health awareness were held for the soldiers and their families emphasizing the importance of a healthy mind for a healthy life.
