Imphal, September 10 2024:
The Manipur State Council-CPI has strongly condemned the brutal crackdown on student protesters yesterday and today.
While the students had served an ultimatum to the Governor and the Chief Minister to take actions to resolve the Manipur crisis within 24 hours, they have failed to take any decisions and convert the students' demands into action, it said.
When the Government failed to take actions on the demands, the police cracked down the students with brute force hurting many.
This brutal crackdown on students is a manifestation of a dictatorial regime, said CPI.
Around 100 students have been hurt in the brutal crackdown.
This has happened because of the failure of the Government.
The Chief Minister should bear the responsibility and resign on moral ground, said MSC-CPI.
