Sit in protest staged, JAC demands mortal remains of Jiteshore & four others

JAC Jiribam, CSOs and Meira Paibis staged a sit in protest demanding the authorities concerned to hand over the mortal remains of Jiteshore Sharma and four other individuals who were allegedly killed by the Indian Army, at Lamkhai Keithel today.
The JAC Jiribam raised several slogans and pla cards which read, "Remove AFSPA", "Give justice, punish culprits" etc, reports our correspondent.
Speaking to media persons at the sideline of the protest, one Maipaksana Meetei claimed that G Jiteshore Sharma alias Gypsy of Nagamapal Sinjubung Imphal went missing in April, 2011 .
When the authorities concerned were approached by the people regarding the suspicious disappearance of Jiteshore , the authorities denied any relation or having a hand in the matter.
Afterwards, four others namely Th Satish, Th Prem, RK Ronel and Ph Naobi who allegedly associated with Jiteshore were arrested from their respective houses, he claimed.
After keeping the knowledge about whether the arrested and missing individuals were alive or dead , in the dark for a while, the local dailies recently reported them as dead, he added.
Condemning the act, the Nagamapal Sinjubung Youth Organisation, on August 5, organised a meeting attended by almost 30 organisations and adopted various resolutions.
He claimed that Jiteshore and four others were killed without any trial or going proper judicial process, as per the media reports.
On the other hand, another participant S Sushila Devi appealed to the authorities concerned to hand over the mortal remains of the five individuals so that their respective families can perform the last rites.
