One new case detected, two discharged

Imphal, May 08 2022:
After two consecutive days of remaining free from Covid-19 cases, the state on Sunday reported one new positive case out of 106 samples tested in the last 24 hours registering 0.94 per cent test positivity rate.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received the second doses.
In the last 24 hours, two patient was discharged from Covid care facilities and number of active cases came down to 6 out of which 2 (33.33 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 300 va cant beds available in JNIMS and 190 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 11,438 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 6 new positive case and 0 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 6 and 0 respectively.
According to official reports, the lone fresh case (male) is a civilian resident of Thoubal district.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,226 (general population - 1,32,212 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,35,100 (general population - 130,093 and CAPF personnel - 5,007) and number of active cases is 6 (general population) .
The recovery rate remains at 98.45 per cent.
A total of 162 D-type and 22 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 802 vaccine doses administered on Saturday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 15,59,666, including 12,09,623 who have received the second doses and 87,512 jabbed with the precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,748), Imphal East (30,445), Thoubal (10,161), Churachandpur (11,054), Kangpokpi (3135), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9842), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3277), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2726), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036), and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,224 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,678 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,19,053 tests per million population against the national average of 5,98,352 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and cumulative positivity rate 8.52 per cent.
