Imphal, February 08 2021: Mantripukhri Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis IGAR (South) organised Community service and Awareness Drive at Phaipijang village Baptist Church in Imphal East district of Manipur on yesterday.

The event commenced with community service cum interaction with the locals at Phaipijang village Baptist Church where the soldiers paid their homage as per the customs and traditions of the village.

An awareness lecture was also organised for the locals with an aim to educate them about the importance of hygiene, sanitation and various precautions to be taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 along with distribution of masks and hand sanitizers.

Villagers were also informed about the vaccination drive policy adopted by the state government.

In addition to that, various existing government schemes for promotion of local agricultural products and procedure to avail the benefits were also highlighted.

45 villagers attended the lecture and interaction.

The event culminated with light refreshments for all the attendees.
