Greeting on MPA's 26th Raising Day

Military Affairs Committee (MAC) of the proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has greeted the people of different communities residing in Manipur on the occasion of 26th Raising Day of its armed wing Manipur People's Army (MPA) .
In a statement, Khundongbam Pambei, Acting Chairman of MAC said that people are the backbone of the ongoing revolution for regaining the lost freedom of Manipur.
The statement observed that MPA has been undergoing revolutionary movement against India government to regain its lost freedom for the last 26 years.
In its long journey, MPA has stood firm on its ideology and objectives.
Even though MPA is fighting a war of freedom against India government, it is the people of Manipur belonging to different indigenous communities who are the backbone of the movement.
The ongoing movement would see its victory when the revolutionary organisations and its cadres succeeded in forming a close bond with the people and win their support and trust.
UNLF believes in the unity of the people and its power and regard the people as the strength and asset of the revolutionary movement.

On the strategy of the war of freedom against India, the statement mentioned that the strategy and ways of fighting the freedom war is the direct reaction of the strategic policy of the India government and its security forces.
Since its inception, UNLF has been lauching its revolutionary movement in democratic ways through various unarmed and armed propaganda and direct fighting against the India government.
UNLF and its armed wing MPA always assess its working strategy and adopt new and necessary changes from time to time to keep the revolution forward and smooth.
Some of the achievements of MPA in 2012 were its successful attack on CRPF at Kamjong Sub Division in Ukhrul Disktrict, attack on C-Coy of 28 Assam Rifles at Keishampat Traffic Point, attack on Assam Rifles at Kwatha Khunou in Chandel district, attack on Assam Rifles at Konthoujam in Imphal West District and attack on a Bullet Proof 407 Mini Truck of 143 CRPF at Porompat DC Road near Imphal Police Station, it added.
The statement also apologised to the people of Manipur for the mistake of MPA in taking the lives of two innocent Tangkhul civilians assuming them to be AR personnel.
It also apologised for the Kwatha Khunou incident in which an innocent civilian was killed in the crossfire between MPA and Assam Rifles.
