LOYALUP celebrates Foundation Day

Loumee Yaipha Lup, Kangleipak (LOYALUP) celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club, Imphal on Sunday.
It was attended by LOYALUP president, Yurembam Tiken; KANGLAMEI president, Yumnam Leirik Leima; KANGLEI IMA LUP president, RK Sanahanbi; Kangla Pao editor, Paonam Labango Mangang and LOYALUP advisor, Maibam Bisheshwor as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, LOYALUP working president Birjit Taorangbam said that the COVID-19 pandemic followed by floods, hailstorms and the ongoing violence have severely affected the farmers of Manipur.
He also asserted that the nonfunctioning Monitoring Cell established by the Government has added to the sufferings of the farmers who are unable to carry out their agricultural activities due to the constant threat from Kuki Narco Terrorists.
Appreciating the Government for providing the compensation for the first phase to the farmers, he urged the Government to release the compensation amount for the second phase at the earliest to provide some relief to the farmers.
Further, Birjit appealed to the Government to take necessary measures to prevent the frequent burning of paddy stacks by unidentified miscreants.
