Imphal, November 06 2023:
Twelve organisations of the State have come together to urge the Co-ordinating Committee On Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) to withdraw its resolve to boycott the Manipur Government.
Representatives of the twelve organisations made the appeal during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today.
Speaking on their behalf, Thoidingjam Bon, spokesperson, Co-ordinating Body, Imphal urged COCOMI to revoke their boycott in consideration of the necessity to communicate with the State Government during this ongoing crisis.
Stating that without the assistance and proper communication with the State Government, COCOMI's valuable and indispensable efforts to resettle displaced families will be slowed down, he reiterated his appeal to the influential civil society organisation.
He also urged organisations both old and new ones from different parts of the State to establish clear communication with leading CSOs such as AMUCO, COCOMI and FOCS when passing important resolutions related to the conflict and the State so as to ensure that there will be unity in the people's movement.
The Manipur Government cannot move forward without the cooperation of the people.
Likewise, the civil society organisations will not attain their goals without the help of the State Government, he said.
Bon further appealed to the State Government to establish a clear line of communication with COCOMI and other CSOs and take up substantive measures for the common good of Manipur and its people.
