Parents demand white paper on transport policy

Parent and Guardian Association of Shishu Nishta Niketan, Imphal has demanded a white paper on the new transport policy adopted by the school authority.
The development has come about following a general body meeting of the Association held at Mahatma Gandhi memorial hall here today.
After a serious deliberation on the present impasse over the issue of transportation of students of the school, the Association unanimously adopted 7 resolutions.
Apart from the demand for bringing out a white paper on the new transport policy adopted by the school authority of Sishu Nistha Niketan, the resolutions taken during the meeting made it clear that if the school authority is to implement the new transport policy, a meeting between teachers and parents should be held prior to the implementation.
Appealing to the authority of Sishu Nistha Niketan to stop discriminating students travelling in non-approved vans as second class citizens, the meeting also demanded to know how far the school authority has committed itself to implementing the ZEO Zone 1 order dated 19th Aug.

In case the school authority continues to ill-treat the students travelling in non-approved vans, the meeting warned of shutting down the school and resolved that the problem being faced by the students should be solved along with other student organisations in the State.
Furthermore, the Association resolved to check how far the school authority has been able to implement all the CBSE guidelines besides transport policy.
