Daily cases, TPR drop marginally

Imphal, April 05 2022:
For the second consecutive day, the daily Covid-19 positive cases remained in the single digit as six persons were confirmed to have contracted the infectious diseases on Tuesday.
The positive cases were detected out of the total of 484 samples examined at different testing centres across the state and recorded test positivity rate of 1.2 per cent against 2.0 per cent registered on Monday.
There is no report of any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours during which five patients recovered and were discharged from Covid care facilities.
According to daily government bulletins, the six new cases include four males and two females from among the general population.
They are residents of Imphal East (2), Imphal West (2), Chandel (1) and Kakching (1) .
Informing that all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the bulletins said that the cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,132, out of which 1,32,118 are from among the general population and 5014 are central security personnel.
The cumulative number of recovered cases in the state is 1,34,966 while the number of active cases is 46, all from the general population.
The recovery rate remains static at 98.42 per cent, the same for the past three days.
Out of the 300 Covid beds in JNIMS only two are occupied while one patient is awaiting recovery in the 190-bedded RIMS facility.
As on Monday, a total of 286 D-type and 92 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities in the state.
During the same period, 3048 doses of Covid vaccines were administered taking the state's cumulative number of persons inoculated to 27,95,129 including 15,44,012 who have received the first dose and 11,84,445 persons who have taken the second doses.
As on date, the number of beneficiaries who have been provided the precautionary doses is 66,671 .
