Imphal, March 05 2019: A teacher of a renowned mission school was arrested by Lamphel police for sexually assaulting a male minor student.

The said mission school is considered one of the best schools in State and is located under the jurisdiction of Lamphel PS.

According to a reliable source, the matter came to light after the family members of the victim student reported about the sexual exploitation of the victim by the teacher in the school, to Childline Imphal West.

The source mentioned that the victim was staying in a boys hostel of the school located near the school premise and added that accused teacher is identified only as one Purnima of Thoubal, who is also looking after the boy's hostel as its warden.

Soon after the Lamphel police was informed about the incident, the teacher was arrested by a team of Lamphel PS and taken into custody.

The medical examination of the 14 year old victim was conducted at Forensic Science Laboratory RIMS today.

On the other, according to another reliable source, a 2 day holiday has been announced for the said school.
