Thoubal, December 04 2024: Thirteen memorial stones dedicated to the 13 martyrs who were killed in the Leithao massacre were unveiled today at Andro Khunou Torongthel Kamu Koireng Integrity Park in Imphal East.

The memorial structures were unveiled during a solemn memorial ceremony organised by Athouba 13 Ningshing Thouram Lup marking a year since the tragic incident happened on December 4, 2023 .

Speaking to media persons in this connection, Laishram Ningthou, convenor, Athouba 13 Ningshing Thouram Lup, said that the event was held in remembrance of the supreme sacrifice made by the thirteen martyrs for their motherland.

Notably, he shared that the memorial ceremony will be observed every year in collaboration with the public.

Laishram Ningthou also expressed gratitude to everyone who extended monetary, material and mental support in building the memorials and organising the ceremony.

He also thanked the hundreds of people who attended the ceremony and offered prayers and flowers upon the memorial shrines of the martyrs.
