Jiribam, October 04 2015:
Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) is all set to resume agitation soon as it has revoked its decision to suspend the earlier stir launched over the demand for up-gradation of Jiribam into a full-fledged District.
The State Government is still not willing to implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with JDDC on November 9, 2011, committee convenor M Meipaksana Mangang said during a press meet held at the office of All Jiribam United Clubs' Association (AJUCA) on Sunday, according to Jiri News Network.

He expressed dismay with the State Government's alleged apathy shown towards the MoU and said it appears that the "communal Government" tag given by United Naga Council (UNC) to the State Government is aptly framed.
The MoU contains 11 points and the first one says, "The Government of Manipur has agreed to the up-gradation of Jiribam Revenue Sub-Division into a full-fledged Revenue District at an early date after submission of the report of the District Re-organisation and Police Boundary Committee," Meipaksana cited.
A joint meeting of JDDC and the public will be held soon to decide the next course of action in order to resume the suspended stir, the committee convenor announced.
