MAF to provide cost-free house renovations along Tiddim road

Imphal, October 04 2014 : Manipur Architects Forum (MAF) has on Saturday announced that it would provide 'free architects' for designing and refurbishing of all houses dismantled by Manipur Government for the current road expansion work taken up from Keishampat Junction to Imphal airport.

Cost-free architects will be provided to all houses to be restored along the Tiddim road stretch from Keishampat Junction to Imphal airport to mark the occasion of World Architecture Day 2014, MAF president P Krishnakumar Sharma told reporters at Manipur Press Club.

He said MAF will celebrate the World Architecture Day 2014 on October 6 at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound here.

A 'design consultation camp' will be held as part of the event, he added.

All the owners whose houses had been dismantled by the Government for the Airport Road improvement programme are invited to submit photo copies of their houses along with their sizes and the total number of floors to MAF for cost-free renovations, he said.

Senior architect L Mangi and PDA staff member M Umma Devi will also be honoured on the occasion, he said.
