Biswajit leads Manitex social service

Imphal, November 03 2019:
Textiles, Commerce & Industry Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh led Manitex Social Service at Naoremthong, DC Office Junction and routes leading to Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal ahead of Manitex 2019 .
On the sideline of the social
service, the Minister emphasised the need to maintain cleanliness.
He said that politician alone cannot bring changes in the State, all should own responsibilities to bring development in the society.
Emphasising the importance of the handloom and handicrafts sector, he said that Manitex 2019 aims at showcasing the quality textile products of the State at international level to promote local weavers and artisans.
He informed that many delegates from India and abroad will be attending the Manitex 2019 which is slated to begin from November 5 till 14 .
The Directorate of Handloom & Textiles organised the social service to maintain cleanliness along the route leading to the venue, Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong, he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West, N Prabin Singh, Director, Handloom and Textiles Lamlee Kamei and officials of the Directorate took part in the social service.
More than 300 volunteers including weavers, entrepreneurs, fashion designers, representatives of local clubs and NGOs participated the
Manitex Social Service.
