Imphal, July 03 2013: A one-8ay MShila Congress Conference organised by Phungyar Block Mahila Congress Committee was held today at Nongdam Tangkhul Church with Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai Devi gracing the event as the chief guest.

Conference host president Margaret Shinglai presided over the event while Parliamentary Secretary for Tribal Affairs & Hills, and Information Technology Victor Keishing along with Khangabok AC MLA O Landhoni Devi were the guests of honour.

Speaking at the occasion, Victor Keishing regretted that sanctity of a religious institution like the Church is getting diluted due to involvement of Church organisations and functionaries in politics.

While MLA Landhoni assured all possible assistance in the construction of a community hall for Nongdam Tangkhul villagers as a component of ongoing development projects in the village, Minister AK Mirabai called upon all concerned to remain united so that all intentions of elements inimical to Manipur's unity could be rendered useless.
