Placement Link Training Programme held

Under the objective of developing skills, a 'Placement Link Training Programme for Unemployed Youths of Manipur' was jointly organised by Prestige Design 'N' Services and Rural Social Service Society & Prestige Academy at Classic Hotel today.
As chief guest of the training programmes' inauguration ceremony, Additional DGP N Shyamananda lauded the organisers for their initiative to develop professional skill of the youth.
Stating that lack of employment opportunities in the State is a cause for concern, he also suggested that apart from providing skill development training emphasis should also be given in making the working class section of the society an organised sector.
In his address, Planning Department Director K Mangi said with 18 percent of the adult population of Manipur deprived of employment opportunities such a high rate of unemployed youths is posing serious social problem.
Expressing that the youths clamouring only for white-collar jobs is an unrealistic concept at the current juncture, he exuded confidence that the training programme will enable youths of the State compete with their peers from outside.
The Director also suggested that training on tile laying and other construction activities be conducted as this sector has enormous job opportunity.
