IGNTUSU cries foul over organizing seminar

Denouncing the two-day long 'International Seminar on Human Security in the North East region: Challenges and Predicament'held on March 2 and 3, a general body meeting of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Students' Union (IGNTUSU) convened today resolved to take up necessary action against all those people who are working against the interest of the tribal varsity.
In a statement signed by its Information and Publicity Secretary Peter Mate, IGNTUSU asserted that the seminar had been organized by the Department of Social Work was against the MoU signed between the varsity authority and the student body on October 24, 2011 .
Certificate of the international seminar should be invalidated on the ground that it was organized without knowledge of IGNTU-RCM and the student body, IGNTUSU demanded and added that Dr H.Shukhdev Sharma and Grace Laltlinzo, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work should try to resolve the issue with the varsity authority and the students' union.
Urging the Vice Chancellor (VC) to abstain from signing the seminar certificate, the student body also accused the organizer of the seminar of misusing the fund sanctioned for the Department of Social Work by the Tribal University, Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh.
The Union also urged the authority concerned for inquiry into the matter and submitting the details of the findings to the Regional Campus, Manipur.
