Sangai Fest campaign to kick start today

Imphal, November 02 2012: The Royal Riders team is all set to kick start the Promotional and Awareness Campaign of Sangai Festival from tomorrow.

The campaign would be flagged off from Imphal Hotel by Commissioner of Tourism, Government of Manipur.

Briefing media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club here today, RK Tombisana, President of Royal Riders Manipur, informed that the Royal Riders Manipur has been helping in field publicity and awareness campaign of Sangai Festival organized by the State Government every year.

Likewise, this year too, the volunteers of Royal Riders would be carrying out the campaign in all the nine districts of the state starting from tomorrow.

He further informed that during the course of the campaign, the volunteers would be requesting all the DCs and SPs of the districts concerned to send their representatives to the festival.

Posters and hoardings related to the festival would also be handed over to them.

Tombisana went to say that as a part of the Promotional and Awareness Campaign, the volunteers would be organizing street meetings and counseling in all public places of all the nine districts.

For the first phase, the campaign would cover Imphal West, Bishnupur and Churachandpur district, and in the second phase, Senapati and Ukhrul would be covered on November 10 and 11.On November 17, the campaign would reach Tamenglong district.

On November 20 and 21, the campaign would be held at Thoubal, Chandel, Moreh and Imphal East and it would wind up on the first day of the festival, Tombisana explained.

He further informed that the District Theme Day for Senapati falls on November 23, for Tamenglong on November 24, for Churachandpur on November 25, for Chandel on November 26 and for Ukhrul district on November 27 .

On these days, the facility to present indigenous adventure sports, indigenous food festivals, handloom and handicrafts shows, indigenous fashion shows and cultural presentations would be arranged.
