Government assures, students suspend stir

Imphal, July 02 2013: Following the assurance given by the State Government on retracting its decision to convert Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School into an exclusive school for girls; students' union of the school has withdrawn its protest with immediate effect.

Informing this in a statement, the students' union said that the earlier identity of the school would remain unchanged and regular classes for VI-X standard would resume from tomorrow.

While announcing that class for XI and XII students would also commence soon, the Union has appealed to all the students who have taken the admission form to submit the same in time.

The union has also thanked the state government for considering its demand as well as all other civil society organisations for co-operation and support during the course of action to save the identity of the 80-year old boys' senior school.
