Outreach program conducted on child rights

The Childline Service Tamenglong (CLST) team organized an outreach program under the motto 'Someone who cares is a phone call away' covering many far flung villages under Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong District.
During the outreach program, the team reached out to Taningjam Village, Upper Phellong Village, Phelong-1 Village, Namtiram Village and Azuram Village.
The outreach program started from February 23 till 26 .
During the outreach program, the team sensitized the people about the working system of Childline Service Tamenglong.
The team elaborated the vision of Childline Service to create a child friendly society that guarantees the rights and protection of all children and shared the.
mission of childline which is to reach out to every child in need and ensure their rights and protection.
The team also shared how 1098 works and shared phone and landline numbers dedicated for Tamenglong District.
Around 614 people participated in the outreach program of which 417 were children and 197 were adults from the five villages.
The team interacted with all the village elders, village authorities, Church leaders, student Leaders, social workers, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Angangwadi Workers (AWWs) from the five villages during the outreach program and discussed in detail the prevailing issues like child trafficking, child labour, child marriage, child abuse etc and took a firm decision to work hand-in-hand in order to protect and ensure basic minimum rights of the children in all aspects.
Many pamphlets were distributed and many posters on childline service were pasted in some strategic points where the villagers frequented.
