Alumnus of SSI passes NDA with honours

Imphal, December 01 2024: Jodha Thongjaomayum, an alumnus of Sainik School Imphal who later joined the RIMC has won the coveted President's Bronze Medal at the National Defence Academy (NDA).

Jodha received this rare honour from the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Reviewing Officer of the Passing Out Parade of the 147th course of the NDA on Saturday.

Son of a school van driver from Manipur, he has made his parents and school proud by winning the coveted President's Bronze Medal at the National Defence Academy (NDA).

"My father supported my career and ambitions and because of his encouragement, I am able to achieve this milestone," Jodha said, proudly reflecting on his early days in Sainik School Imphal where he completed his junior high school.

He also recollected his earliest memory of schooling before joining Sainik School Imphal where his father drove him and other students to their school in a van.

Sainik School teachers and staff have expressed joy and wished him greater laurels in future.
