Transfer of teachers flayed

Several civil bodies of Chandel have flayed the recent transfer of 5 teachers of Chakpikarong Government High School by the state government.
Civil bodies including CNPO, ANTA and ALT Chakpikarong Branch have appealed to the department concerned not only to stay the transfer orders, but also to provide the required number of teachers for the school.
Briefing media in this regard, Chairman of the Chakpikarong Govt High School SMDC, Hl Thungam stated that the school is now left with only 13 teachers when there are 558 students.
The total strength of the staffs is supposed to be 28, but only 20 staffs have been sanctioned.
Out of the 20 teachers, 2 teachers were taken away from the school and utilized at Tengnoupal and Liwachangning H/School, while 5 teachers got transferred.
Transfer of 5 teachers of the school during this hour is 'Unjustified', he contended.
President of ALT Chakpikarong Chakpikarong Branch Ws Ruwngwar while briefing the media urged the department to stay the order of effecting transfer of 5 teachers from Chakpikaong High School and another four from Toupokpi H/School.
Despite lack of basic infrastructure and shortage of teachers as well as long absence of the head in the school, Chakpikarong Govt High School has been one of the best schools in the sub-division with as many as 558 students enrolled in the current academic session.
In the midst of sufferings facing the Chakpikarong Govt high school, a recent Government order has transferred as many as 5 teachers from the school thereby seriously affecting the career of the students.
CNPO President went on to inform that a CNPO team had earlier visited the two schools and confirmed the shortage of teachers in such school having good number of students.
While appealing the department to consider the plight of the students, the president stated that CNPO will support any democratic form of agitation launched in connection with the matter.
On the other hand, a reliable source said the Maha Union Govt high school has now surplus of teachers.
