KTC meets MO over JE prevention at Kpi

Imphal, July 31 2016:
Concerned over the recent outbreak of Japanese
Encephalitis (JE) in the State, the Kangpokpi
Town Committee met the Medical Officer of
Community Health Centre, Kangpokpi and dis-
cussed the preventive measures that could be
taken up in the town.
According to the town committee, mem-
bers of KTC led by its chairman Chonkam
Kipgen met the MO in charge of CHC
Kangpokpi and discussed various preventive
measures to be carried out in collaboration
with Medical Department in the town to prevent JE.
JE vaccination camp for Kangpokpi town will be con-
ducted on Monday.
Children below 15 years of age who
have not received JE vaccination earlier can get vaccinated
at the camp, the town committee informed.
Fogging will
however be carried out as and when the need arises.
Meanwhile, Kanggui We Care (KWCare) said it will
organize a mass cleanliness drive in the town as a preven-
tive measure against JE.
It has appealed to the general public
to participate in the mass cleanliness drive.
