"Legal Literacy Clubs set up in 30 Govt schools so far"

Imphal, June 30 2018:
Manipur State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Imphal West District Legal Services Authority and Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecture's Welfare Association (MGHSLWA) organised an inaugural ceremony of Students' Legal Literacy Club at Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School today.
A legal awareness club was also held as part of the ceremony.
High Court of Manipur Judge N Kotiswar Singh said that legal literacy clubs are set up Government schools with an objective to raise proper legal awareness among the students of Govt schools.
The club will make the students aware of the Indian Constitution, laws and legal Acts.
Legal Literacy Clubs has been set up at 30 Government schools so far, he said while adding that there are plans to set up such camps at private schools also.
He further said that suitable and appropriate books are also given to the students also.
District and Session Judge Imphal West & Chairman Imphal West DLSA M Manojkumar Singh, member secretary Manipur State Legal Services Authority RK Memcha Devi and Principal Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School N Prempyari Devi also seated on the dais.
