Sit in protest staged against bomb threat

Imphal, June 30 2011: Local people of Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai today staged a sit-in-protest against the bomb blast in the court yard of Executive Engineer (CADA) Thokchom Kesho on Wednesday night.

Reacting against the life threatening incident which occurred in the heavily populated area, local people carried out the protest from 10 am to 4 pm at the community hall near Tiddim Ground, Imphal.

According to family members of Kesho, no monetary demands of any organisation or UG group was made to them.

It may be mentioned that a hand grenade was also hurled inside the residential area of Kesho on June 21 which fortunately failed to explode.

Meanwhile, unknown persons today hurled a hand grenade at the residence of one Longjam Jibonkumar of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai.

Fortunately the grenade failed to explode which prevented human casualties.

Reason of the threat and who carried out the operation is still unknown.
