Diamond jubilee celebrated

Chandel, December 31 2019: A diamond jubilee celebration of Heigrutampak (Tungphae), a village of Moyon Naga tribe in Chandel district was held on December 28 last.

The villagers celebrated the event on the theme 'Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and sing joyful songs of praise' which was quoted from Psalm 95:2 .

Social worker SS Olish, 'father of Moyon Literature', Dr Donald Kosha, chief of Tungphae village, N Solomon attended the observance as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.

The celebration started with a prayer, offered by N Solomon and hoisting of jubilee flag while SS Olish unveiled a monument erected to mark the diamond jubilee.

The social worker also released a souvenir.

The celebration was marked by welcome and presentation of gifts to dignitaries and others and rendering of beautiful hymns and songs by jubilee song and music committee.

Many people and invitees including Pastors, village chiefs, CSO's leaders also attended the event.

The jubilee ended with a grand feast and a prayer offered by Father L Sylvester Kopu.
