Imphal, December 30 2013:
The All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) has expressed its concern on the reported warning from the government of India to abrogate the cease fire with the NSCN-IM.
AMTU said it is the common public who is going to face the extreme negative impact if ceasefire is darailed as the hard earned peace is going to parish not only in Nagaland but in the other states too, wherever NSCN(IM) operates.
"The people have been experiencing peace to some extent ever since certain UGs were brokered ceasefire or suspension of operation (SoO) thus, we don't want violence and war anymore at a higher tiding," the tribal body said.
According to AMTU, any ceasefire or amnesty must be supported and subscribed at any cost since these ethics are the role spectrum of ideal humanity that may save life.
"Such ethics must not be disturbed or adulterated for vested interest.
It is worth mentioning that the tribal regions of Manipur and Nagaland have becume peaceful and deterrosized after the ceasefire between GOI and NSCN(IM) and also with other tribal outfits.
Gunfight is not a football game as it cost precious human lives.
So, it is advised that no one be it government of India or others should gamble with gunfight at this modern civilized region.
Let us keep on peace as our traditional culture along with Rejoicing New Year," AMTU advised.
