Bomb threat: Meeting reaffirms stand to disallow entry of armed persons in Khangabok

Thoubal, October 30 2024: Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Khangabok and Apunba Club, Khangabok jointly organised a public meeting and sit in protest at Khangabok Mamang Keithel in response to the bomb threat at the residence of Dr Laishram Somenkumar, Proprietor, Sur Hospital on October 26 .

Notably, a sit-in protest held on October 27 had demanded the perpetrators to issue a clarification within 48 hours.

As no one claimed responsibility or issued an explanation within the stipulated time period, the meeting and protest demonstration was staged today which proceeded to block one side of the main road.

During the meeting, the protestors passed a few significant resolutions concerning the incident.

Reading out the resolutions, Kh Jibon, advisor, Bangsibudon Youth Club, reaffirmed the people's earlier stance to prohibit armed individuals from entering Khangabok area until the perpetrators behind the bomb threat and the motives behind their act is revealed.

As no clarification has been issued till date, he said that the public will assume that this unfortunate act was perpetrated by certain individuals for their personal interest.

The gathering also resolved to look into the incident with the help of Khangabok clubs, organisations and the public.

When the identity of the culprits is ascertained, the meeting passed a resolution to denounce the village which provided shelter to these miscreants and hold them accountable for the incident.
