Kangpokpi, January 30 2017: The second edition of Thadou Baptist Association Youth Fellowship's Gospel Olympic cum Icon 2017 concluded yesterday at Haipi village, Kangpokpi district, reports our correspondent.

The week-long event was organized under the theme 'Passing in the baton of light' by Youth Department, Thadou Baptist Association-India.

More than 950 delegates from Jiribam, Twipajang, Twilang, K Geljang, Keithelmanbi and Motbung areas attended the programme.

Rev V Sitlhou, executive secretary, TBA-I, Rev Letkam Sitlhou, Pastor, K Geljang area, Rev Ngamhao Touthang, Pastor, Moreh Centre Church, Rev K Hangshing, Pastor Kangpokpi Centre Church and Pastor Kaigoulun Lhouvum, Imphal Centre Church were the main speakers.

A torch rally from Keithelmanbi to Haipi village, flag hoisting and lighting of the olympic torch, beating of traditional gongs, blowing of traditional trumpets and oath taking ceremony by all TBAYF area chairmen and secretaries marked the inaugural day of the event.

Prize distribution to the winners of various games and sports, held during the event, declaration of icon winner, presentation and appreciation marked the closing ceremony.
