Heirok folks petition Governor

Imphal, December 29 2021: The JAG of Displaced Persons through Atrocities by Local Goons, Heirok' has sought immediate attention of Governor La Ganesan to allay the fear of the people over the escalating volatile atmosphere in the Constituency.

In a memorandum addressed to the Governor, the JAC stated that the situation at Heirok might already be resolved had the Government arrested all people who indulged in nefarious activities and sat with Congress and BJP leaders to settle the issue on time.

The JAC then urged the Governor to open a relief centre for the displaced persons, compensate for the loss of their properties, arrange measures for them to cast their votes through postal ballots or open a separate a polling booth and expeditiously punish whoever found guilty in the series of events that have traumatized the people of Heirok.

Claiming that Polling Stations 33/34 and 33/39 are the epicenter of all violent activities that have taken place in Heirok, the memorandum urged the Governor to declare the two as hyper sensitive polling stations.

According to the memorandum, altogether 103 people of 18 households have been displaced due to the tense situation in the Constituency.
