O Joy meets Guv, presses for removal of Md Nasir

Terming the act of beating up a Congress worker by Minister Md Abdul Nasir at Sangai Festival in full public view as an affront to the Constitution of India, veteran politician O Joy has urged the Governor to relieve Md Abdul Nasir from his Ministerial post.
The veteran politician met the Governor today and discussed in depth about the misconducts of the Minister.
Addressing media persons in this regard at the office of MPP here today, O Joy stated that the act of Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture Md Abdul Nasir in beating up one Alam Azad in full public view is not only an act to disgrace for the people of Manipur to the outside world, but also a total violation of the Constitution of India.
He further stated that it would be most appropriate to remove Md Abdul Nasir from his Ministership as he is not fit to hold the post.
This has been made known to the Governor considering him (Governor) as the guardian of the people of the State.
O Joy further stated that the silent attitude of the security personnel over the act of the Minister who beat up a man in full public view is also highly condemnable.
Being the President of MPCC, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam ought to take up disciplinary actions against Minister Abdul Nasir.
While noting that security personnel arrested those persons selling meat of wild animals inside the Sangai Festival in consonance with the Protection of Wild Life Act, O Joy expressed questioned why the security personnel failed to arrest a Minister who defied the law of the land.
"Everyone is equal in the eyes of the law and there is no separate law for Ministers", he pointed out.
Recalling that the Governor has sought a written complaint statement, O Joy informed that he would be submitting a written complaint to the Governor by tomorrow, and recalled the incident in which ex-Minister of Sports Mutum Deben was pulled down from being a Minister by the then Chief Minister RK Ranbir over beating up of a student.
