State reports one death, 116 cases

Though the daily test capacity remains ordinary, the daily positivity rate in the state saw a marginal fall on Monday as government bulletins reported 116 new cases out of 1853 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 6.26 per cent against Sunday's 7.07 per cent.
The state also reported one death case with the victim, a resident of Imphal East district, not vaccinated.
With this, the cumulative number of fatalities from Covid-19 has reached 1847 .
Though the overall positivity rate in the state is below 7 per cent, Chandel district recorded double digit infection at 16.2 per cent while Kamjong (9.7 per cent), Imphal East (9.5 per cent), Imphal West (8.1 per cent), and Churachandpur (7.5 per cent) recorded high positivity rate.
The active caseload came down to 2111 out of which 449 (21.27 per cent) are in home isolation, 689 (32.64 per cent) in CHICs, 594 (28.14 per cent) in CCCs and 379 (17.95 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 73 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 92 are on oxygen support and 26 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS though it has 169 patients.
On the other hand, there are six patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Monday evening, 545 beds including 110 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Sunday evening 2873 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 380 beds (28 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 90,600 positive cases and 1473 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 6067 new cases and 65 fatalities out of which 1327 new cases and 15 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 116 new positive cases (58 male & 58 female) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (9), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (104) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (30), Imphal West (52), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (6), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (1), Kamjong (3) and Kangpokpi (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 129 persons were discharged from home isolation (44), RIMS (4), JNIMS (9), CCCs (37) and CHICs (15) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,20,000 (general population - 1,15,725 and CAPF personnel - 4,275).Number of recovered cases is 1,16,042 (general population - 1,11,822 and CAPF personnel - 4,220) and number of active cases is 2,111 (general population - 2,061 and CAPF personnel - 50).The recovery rate is 96.70 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 957 D-type and 242 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 831 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 12,19,632 which include 4,51,504 fully vaccinated people.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (41,227), Imphal East (26,541), Thoubal (9317), Churachandpur (10010), Kangpokpi (2745), Tamenglong (3255), Bishnupur (8989), Senapati (2194), Ukhrul (2708), Kakching (6340), Chandel (2279), Noney (1059), Tengnoupal (1036), Jiribam (1015), Kamjong (852) and Pherzawl (433) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (614), Imphal East (435), Thoubal (168), Churachandpur (157), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (186), Senapati (9), Ukhrul (33), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,672 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,124 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,16,666 tests per million population against the national average of 4,04,086 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1853 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.26 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.28 per cent.
