India GI fair 2022 sees participation of State farmers

Imphal, August 27 2022: Many from the state are participating in the India GI (Geographical Indications) Fair 2022 currently being held at India Expo Centre & Mart Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR from August 26 to 28 .

Led by a team of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), the participants include farmer representatives from Chakhao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Ltd, Rinrum Organic Producer Company Ltd, Sirarakhong Hathei Chilli Promotion Committee and Reangluang Organic Farmers Producer Company Ltd.

Some of the items being displayed at the fair are Chakhao (black rice), Kachai Lemon, Tamenglong Orange, Sirarakhong Hathei Chilli products etc.

According to Chongtham Shanta Singh, chairman, Chakhao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Ltd the fair has shown that there is great demand for Chakhao kheer, Chakhao noodles and chengpak as well as Kachai Lemon, and Sirarakhong Chilli.
