MOMA website launched, Shyamkumar promises major benefits to farmers via website

Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) under the aegis of Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation Manipur launched its official website "www.momamanipur.com" at Sangai Continental today.
Keynote address was delivered by Project Director of MOMA, K Debadutta Sharma.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, Horticulture & Soil Conservation Minister Th Shyamkumar stated that one can gather or attain knowledge about new things and happenings in and around the world through new and advanced technologies.
The Minister conveyed that people can access the website and witness the activities, ongoing projects or accomplished works taken up by MOMA at hill regions and far flung areas of the State.
He maintained that the website will provide information regarding the plantation, place and availability of different types of organic items including plants/fruits.
Shyamkumar assured that farmer will be motivated and encouraged to work harder and pursue their dream effectively as the information in the website will spark the interest in them.
He stated that the website was developed with a view to provide opportunities and benefits to farmers when they visit different agencies and companies present in the website.
The Minister conveyed that the Government is planning to open website for each Department so that various activities under the respective Departments can be made aware to the public.
He said that the world has developed so much that culture of working at desks is reducing substantially.
Principal Secretary Horticulture & Soil Conservation, JC Ramthanga stressed that it is rather necessary and appropriate to open a website in today's IT world.
He said that people from across the globe can access the website and gather information about the activities of MOMA.
Stating that the initiative is to transform Manipur into a fully organic State, Ramthanga added that the website is a key instrument in achieving that state.
Central Agriculture University (CAU) Professor JM Laishram and Director Horticulture & Soil Conservation K Kipgen attended the ceremony as guests of honour.
Power Tillers were presented to three Farmer Producer Company of Senapati, Churachandpur and Tamenglong as part of the programme.
The website provides information on the genesis, vision, activities and goal of Manipur Organic Mission Agency and the scheme MOVCDNER which will help public in understanding more about the agency.
The utility and processing opportunities of various crops undertaken are also provided to attract both processor and consumer.
Complete details of farmers and FPCs registered are also provided for better transparency to the public.
