Kuki chiefs thank CM, others for extending help to Chassad victims

The Eastern Kuki Chiefs' Association (EKCA) expressed heartfelt thanked all who extended helping hands to the villagers of Chassad who have become homeless as their houses and properties were burned down to ashes, destroyed or plundered on the fateful day of March 16 .
It said, "We are also immensely thankful to the Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh for his immediate step and prompt action in tackling the catastrophe as he had deputed a team of Ministers led by the Deputy Chief Minister to Chassad village on the same day to take stock of the grave situation and announcing relief fund of Rs 3 lakh per victim family apart from providing food, clothes, and temporary makeshifts and help rebuild the houses.
The Chief Minister's handling of Chassad issue is truly outstanding as it displays his capable leadership quality which is unmatched so far in the history of Manipur, it said.
It continued that even though we cannot mention each name but we indebted to express our heartfelt thanks to all philanthropic organisations and individuals across the length and breadth of India and beyond for your contribution of relief funds and materials to the victims of Chassad village.
It also thanked the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), The Kuki Students' Organisation, (KSO) and the Kuki Khanglai Lompi,(KKL) for taking the initiative in systematically organising, mobilizing and coordinating to rehabilitate and rebuild Chassad.
It is through all of our efforts that the victims have found solace, comfort, hope and strength and we pray that our almighty God pays you back manifold for every act of your contribution towards rebuilding Chassad, it added.
