Thoubal, September 26 2020: One BJP worker Khumanthem Nimai has stated that none of his colleagues beat anyone at Heirok as claimed by Heirok Kendra Youth Congress Committee (HKYCC).

Briefing media persons, Nimai stated that a meeting of BJP Heirok Mandal was convened on Thursday at Heirok Thokchom Leikai to discuss the political situation of the Constituency.

On returning after the meeting, some people claimed to be HKYCC members were found bursting firecrackers, causing disturbance to passers-by, he claimed adding that the HKYCC members even threw firecrackers at BJP supporters.

Seeing the incident, the BJP workers returning from the meeting questioned the motive behind the celebration, he said further claiming that HKYCC workers responded with vulgar language and also attempted to attack them.

But no untoward incidents happened due to timely intervention of the Heirok police, he added.

It is also very unfortunate that the HKYCC is trying to depict the BJP workers in a bad light, the convenor continued.
