Imphal, August 26 2015: Zeliangrong Baudi has appealed to all Zeliangrongs to observe the Zeliangrong Martyr's Day to commemorate the 84th death anniversary of freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang on Aug 29 .

In a statement, ZB said that the Martyr's Day will be observed simultaneously at Imphal, Jalukie town of Nagaland, Delhi, Binakandi of Assam, Dimapur of Nagaland, Khoupum valley, Loktak project, Shillong, Silchar, Halflong, Guwahati and elsewhere.

It urged all Peis, organisations, clubs and educational institutions to observe the day by lighting candles or torches to pay homage to the Jadonang.

ZM further expressed its gratitude to the Govt of India and particularly PM Narendra Modi for according great honour to freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu on her birth centenary year celebration by releasing commemorative coins in her honour.
