Women journalists donate sewing machine

Imphal, November 25 2016: Women journalists of Imphal based regional dailies donated an electrical sewing machine to a 52 year old woman with locomotor disability today.

Leima Chinglai (52) is a mother of two.

She has been living in a rented house in Imphal East after her husband left her.

Leima engages herself in embroidery and reels cocoons to support herself.

The women journalists came across the story of Leima from the social media platform Facebook.

The electric sewing machine that was donated today can perform both embroidery and tailoring works.

Other necessary materials like threads, frame and clothes were also donated by the journalist team.

Leima said she will work hard and to buy a silk reeling machine.
