MU Meet concludes

The 14th Manipur University Inter College Literary Meet-2019, wrapped up at the university's centenary hall today.
The closing programme of the meet/event, which began yesterday under the aegis of Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU), was attended by MU Registrar in charge Professor W Chandbabu, School of Humanities Dean Prof Ch Yashwanta and MUSU president Keisham Levanan as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the event, Prof W Chandbabu said that the literary meet is a platform for the students to excel in other activities apart from studies.
To learn new things is very important, he said, adding that the event presents an opportunity for the students and all to learn many new and interesting things and ideas.
Stating that knowledge, attitude, skill and habits are necessary characteristics for one to become successful in life, Prof Chandbabu conveyed that it is a great challenge to identity what must be done to attain these qualities as well as disseminate the same to all for all round development.
On the other hand, MUSU president K Levanan said that the literary meet gives an opportunity to the youth and the students to showcase their innate talents.
He then explained that the theme of the event, Nationalism and patriotism, means that the youth work towards contributing all they can for the development of the motherland.
As a part of the event, winners of the debate, recitation and patriotic song competitions were felicitated during the closing ceremony and the awards were handed over by the presidium members.
