Imphal, November 24 2018: An inaugural function of Essential Oil Distillation Plant, Vermicomposting Unit and Transfer of Technology of Liquid Deodorant was organised at CSIR-NEIST Branch Lab, Lamphelpat, today.

The event was graced by CAF & PD Minister, Karam Shyam as chief guest, Chief Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Assam, Dr P Sengupta as guest of honour and Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Branch Lab, Lamphelpat, Dr Huidrom Birkumar Singh as president.

Dr SP Saikia, Senior Scientist, Dr Mohan Lai, Scientist and Dr Alokananda Sengupta, former Sr Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Assam also attended the function as special invitees.

Speaking on the occasion, CAF & PD Minister, Karam Shyam spoke about the importance of more than 5,000 medicinal plants grown in the State.

He emphasised the need for proper utilisation of land and other resources available to improve the economy of the State.
