Imphal, September 24 2017: Naga Chiefs Association and Kuki Chief Association of Chandel district has called 48 hours bandh in Chandel district from midnight of Spetember 25.A statement of the Naga Chief Association Chandel said that the decision was taken during a meeting held on September 22 at Zion Village Authority Office Chandel by members of Naga Chief Association Chandel, Kuki Chiefs Association Cahndel and Job Card holders of Chandel over the misappropriation og MGNREGS wages 2016-17 1st Phase by the Government of Manipur and not taking any concrete decision on the matter of the memorandum, submitted to the Chief Minister of Manipur through the Deputy Commissioner Chandel on September 14.The association had also staged a sit-in- protest on the same day.

The statement said that electricity, PHED, Medical, religious Service, Military force and Schools will be exempted from the purview of this bandh.
