Locals impose road block stir over woman's death

Imphal, December 23 2017: Annoyed by the concerned authority's lackadaisical attitude over the death of Chongtham Henthoisana who died after she was hit by a speeding motorbike, women folks and club members blocked Konung Mamang-Andro Parking road today .

Chongtham Henthoisana and her 6-year-old daughter were standing on the roadside at Andro Parking when the former was hit by a KTM Duke bike yesterday at around 5 pm .

She was rushed to Advanced Hospital where she was declared brought dead .

The bike rider identified as Laishram Prem (22) s/o Nehru of Khangabok Part II surrendered to Porompat police station yesterday itself.

There were two occupants in the bike .

Speaking to media persons, Nambam Bina, one of the women protestors said that they tried to submit a written complaint in connection with the incident to the concerned authority who refused to receive it without giving any reasons .

She warned of taking up different modes of intense agitation in unison with CSOs if the concerned authority fails to deliver justice to the victim's family at the earliest.
