Imphal, December 22 2021: Tangkhul media professionals and journalists working in the State, the North East and across the country came together to establish Tangkhul Media & Journalists Forum (TMJF) .

The first general meeting of the forum was held on November 20, 2021 and Valleyrose Hungyo, Ngathingkhui Jagoi and Sothing Shimray were elected as members of the advisory board of TMJF, said a statement issued by TMJF today.

TMJF added that the forum was formed keeping in mind the increasing number of Tangkhuls in print, electronic and digital news media over the past few years and the mounting challenges on journalists in the country by State and non-State actors.

The forum also appointed Khathing Ronrei as president, Phunchamnao Ranreiphi Kharei as general secretary, Skyrim Zimik as finance secretary, Mingyashin Shaiza and Jenny Thingshung as executive members for the period 2021-23 .
