MPCC condoles

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has deeply condoled the demise of veteran Congress leader Motilal Vora, a former Union Minister of India.
In a condolence meeting held at Congress Bhavan, BT Road today, the Congress Legislative Party leader Okram Ibobi Singh stated that the Nation has lost a dignified leader who had always shown genuine concerns for North East States especially Manipur.
He further said that Motilal Vora's contributions and dedication to the party will be remembered forever.
The condolence meeting was also attended by CWC member Gaikhangam, office bearers, chiefs of frontal organisations and other working members of the MPCC.
A two-minute silence was observed to show due respect to the soul.
Motilal Vora was bom on December 20, 1928 at Nimbi Jodha in Jodhpur, State of British India, now Nagaur district in Rajasthan.
He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh in 1972, 1977 and 1980 on Congress ticket.
In February, 1988 he became a member of Rajya Sabha and assumed the office of Union Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Civil Association.
He was the Governor of Uttar Pradesh from 1993 to 1996 .
